I m fascinated with this series Every book is hooking from start to finish, each couple s story is a wonderful blend of angst and drama, sexiness and heart I ve devoured every book and I can t wait for , and just when I think the previous couple was my favorite, along comes Siobhan and delivers this darker, vulnerable story with an unexpected yet perfect for each other couple Theirs is a love story is full of the torment Brad has for loving his best friend s girlfriend and abounding fear from Rachel s past and the reluctant attraction between them We met Brad McConaughey from the beginning The guy with family baggage than any teen should ever have The guy who broke his best friend s trust The same guy who helped out said best friend by pretending to be the real boyfriend but falling in love with the wrong girl in the process and then trying to erase the girl from his heart with meaningless hookups Until Rachel moves into town and turns his world upside down Rachel wanted to escape the demons from her past She needed a fresh start, control her life, start over It s hard to do though when she s constantly in contact with the irritatingly handsome man whore who can t get over her best friend And to make matters worse, Brad makes her long ago blocked off heart feel again with the undeniable desire that burns between them For the first time in ages, I feel like I belong in my skin Like I finally recognize myself, and I m comfortable with who I am Brad and Rachel are both trying to work through their issues, so when something sparks between them it catches them off guard and both struggle to process it Will he ever get over his best friend s girl Can she ever let go of her past and will her past let go of her Wasn t their frenetic coupling supposed to be a one time thing Making matters worse, there are outside forces conspiring against them These two hesitant lovers fall slowly for each other in a deliciously drama filled story that kept me up all night I loved the incredible chemistry, past characters helping out, shocking twists I never saw coming, I just couldn t put it down Saving Brad in a wonderful addition to the Kennedy Boys series and I can t wait for .Saving Brad is book 5 in the Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis This is a standalone new adult romance, perfect for The Kennedy Brothers fans Told from both points of view, with a happy ending. Okay, time to confess, Siobhan Davis won me over I am a Brad fan now Saving Brad is the fifth book in the Kennedy Boys series, and the second book to work as a standalone novel As with the prior book, Loving Kalvin, I do believe it works best if you read the Kyler books prior to reading this one In fact, I m of the belief each and every book in this series needs to be read for the best experience Whilst each relationship arc is wonderful alone, there are snippets seen throughout all the books We get ideas of what is to come for the relationships in future books, we get to see how relationships from the prior books have developed, and these things work to make the standalone books all the stronger That being said, the Kyler books will not be for everyone I completely understand why some people will enter on one of the standalone novels However, for those to be following the series, this book will work to make a lot of fans happy As my starting line stated I m now a Brad fan Brad is one of the favourite characters in the series, and I believe the high demand for his story worked towards it being published early into the series, yet I was never a fan It s probably one of the most unpopular opinions surround Siobhan Davis, and yet I could never bring myself to like him all that much His story intrigued me, I cannot deny that, but I never really liked him.As you can see, things changed in this one I went in tentative about it being Brad s story, yet the snapshot we were given at the end of Loving Kalvin had me eager It was a complex mix of emotions So much excitement, yet it was somewhat reserved compared to my excitement for the other books The negative emotions, however, were quickly pushed away Siobhan Davis pulled her usual trick she hooked me early, and I found myself unable to put the book down The characters, the events, the drama the entire story managed to dig deep into my very being and I could not put the book down.Loving Kalvin was an emotional read on a number of levels, yet it pales in comparison to Saving Brad They re both deeply emotional in many ways, yet the situations dealt with in Saving Brad are much heavier From the moment we were introduced to Racheal I had a few ideas about how her story would play out things she said, things she had done, had me believing certain secrets would one day come to the forefront When I found out she was to be the leading lady in Brad s story, I wasn t at all surprised when the synopsis pretty much confirmed my belief Nevertheless, I was waiting on the specifics of the situation Very quickly, we get to see how Racheal has a dark past and secrets that will rip anyone apart I worked out the specifics of the situation quite early, but that failed to lessen the impact when the reveal came about it was dark, it was emotional, and it worked so well in this story There have been hints of darkness throughout all the books in this series, but I believe this one to deal with the darkest of issues In other words, it is not a story for the faint of hearts It will be a trigger for some, and it will leave emotional scars.Whilst Racheal s story is the darker element, Brad s story is also highly emotional As I ve stated, his story has interested me throughout the series I m so glad we finally got to see how everything came together in that regard It was emotional in completely different ways, working to pull your emotions in so many directions as each element of the story was presented A lot of Brad s story works to add the lighter tone to the story There are still many dark moments to be found, but a lot of the elements are in the classical Kennedy drama sense As for the relationship between the two of them, I came to ship it than I d expected They played off of each other so well, their different personalities and individual stories making for an explosive read Alone they were both characters I was never crazy about together, I lost myself in their story It hit me hard in so many places, and it left me emotionally raw by the time I was done. There were two things I wasn t crazy about, if I m honest, but I realise these things are a personal preference. The first is some of the choices made by certain members of the Kennedy family I m really not going to say too much, due to spoilers, but certain things felt like a bit too much When we return to the Kennedy home, I found myself surprised by the turn of events I understand the choice, but it felt a bit too much to me I couldn t quite wrap my head around it I understood, but it felt too much The other is something to do with a reveal made by one of the characters towards the end of the book Again, it was something I understood, but I wasn t sure if I felt it was the right choice at first I thought it was just the shock, but as I thought about it, I felt it jarred slightly with the image I had of the character Both of these are things I can understand, I can rationalise the choices, but I felt as though it wasn t what I ever expected to see of the family. The other thing I wasn t overly crazy about was the ending Whilst there was closure, I felt as though things happened rather suddenly I m not going to go into detail, and I know why things played out the way they did, but I m not sure if I was completely happy To me, the latter part of the book had an almost romantic suspense feel about it I love a good romantic suspense, and I set my bar rather high I know this wasn t a romantic suspense book, but the way elements towards the end slipped in that direction meant my expectation towards the ended was lifted It did have the emotional impact of the rest of the book, but I wasn t on the edge of my seat as action sequences of this sort usually leave me I m not quite sure what it was, but it hit me emotionally yet it failed to get my heart pumping.Overall, however, I loved this one I m both surprised and glad that Siobhan Davis managed to win me over when it comes to Brad, as I honestly wasn t sure whether it would be possible Siobhan Davis managed it though, and I m grateful He may never be my number one favourite character in this series, but I m certainly a bigger fan that I was prior to this one.As a final note, I m even excited for the future books now I ve been a big Keven fan from early in the series and he completely stole my heart in this one the sooner I get my hands on his story, the happier I will be Honestly, he was a total babe in this one my love for him has only grown The snippet provided into Kaden at the end of this one has left me excited for his story also I feel as though we re going to get a Siobhan Davis spin on another popular trope, and I cannot wait for it.Bring on the future Kennedy Boys

First, I must note, that I accidentally skipped over Loving Kalvin I think I remember so much of Kalvin from Keeping Kyler that my brain filled his story in on it s own It didn t mess up my reading of this book at all, but I will be going back to read it before Seducing Kaden is released. Now about Saving Brad This was good I enjoyed it as much as the other books in the series It s that New Adult angst fest that I was craving That said, Brad was starting to wear on me I can t put him into my unlikeable hero slot because I knew the real Brad wasn t really that asshole that he was during the larger part of this book But man, he was a total dick for such a long time that I was starting to think that nice Brad was lost and gone forever.Rachel was wonderful Her story was painful and sad, which served to highlight just how strong and sweet she really is.It s great fun that each of these books connects with each of those Kennedy Boys in some way.

Finally, I repeat, FINALLY Brad has a reason to let go of his obsession with Faye He has endured being the third wheel on Kyler and Faye s bicycle built for two, survived his manwhore ways, relatively unscathed, unless you count the damage to his soul and self respect.Rachel, Faye s best friend has moved across the pond to begin another chapter in her life What no one knows is that she is also on the run from a nightmare of betrayal and the monster who can crush her spirit with a look and a twisted command While it s no secret that Brad and Rachel are like oil and water, when their backs are against the wall and they need a shoulder to lean on, there is an unspoken alliance, perhaps shared pain from the past that brings them together, sometimes by accident, sometimes by design and need.Could it be that this abrasive woman is the very thing Brad needs to realize the difference between his emotional obsession with Faye and true, soul deep love Have the events they both must face skewed their emotions Sometimes when life is the most painful, what you need to be strong is standing right in front of you, arms open wide.SAVING BRAD may be Siobhan Davis crowning glory in a series known for angst, drama, over the top theatrics and probably one of the most dysfunctional functioning families ever Don t get me wrong, the Kennedys are a fascinating family, but Brad has always played the role of the sympathetic charity case, accepted by the family, but still not blood He is most definitely the boy we met so long ago, so willing to do all he could for his best friend, including crushing his own heart and this time out, he still gives and gives, but finally gets what he needs in return The Princess of Pain, Passion and Angst has scored another direct hit to my reading heart Thank you, Siobhan Davis for FINALLY SAVING BRAD and making it absolutely incredible I received an ARC edition from Siobhan Davis Series The Kennedy Boys Book 5Publication Date October 22, 2017Publisher Siobhan DavisGenre New Adult Romantic Suspense Sexual AbusePrint Length 313 pagesAvailable from For Reviews More

Saving Brad is the fifth book in the The Kennedy Boys series, but it can be read as a standalone I had been itching to read Brad s book since I knew he was getting his own and Siobhan did not disappoint in any way.I will do my best to not give any important details away Brad is an honorary Kennedy since he and Kyler have been best friends since they were practically in diapers He then becomes the third wheel in Ky and Faye s relationship and ends up at one point pretending to be Faye s boyfriend, which in turn causes Brad to fall for Faye And yes, that causes some very tumultuous problems between all three of them However, they ve all tried to remain friends throughout it all, despite Brad s issue of moving past Faye.Rachel is Faye s best friend from back home in Ireland Rachel and Brad met before and apparently had a very hot one night together But neither was looking for and both went their own ways, never expecting to really be around the other again, til now Til Rachel decides to transfer to the states and move here permanently. These two will give you whiplash in the best way with how the deal with one another They are trying to move on from their pasts and start anew, and doing it all without having to deal with any sort of relationship too HA These two are so damn attracted to one another, it s surprising they never start fires when they are together.Siobhan does a great job of telling each of their stories and how they got to where they today in such a great way I know that sounds so confusing, but both Brad and Rachel each have their own problems they are trying to overcome and they are on two completely different spectrums of heavy shit to deal with Yet, when Siobhan is writing about each of their unique story lines within this book, it is never confusing and you still feel a great deal for the two of them you understand what they are going through and rooting for them both as individuals and together as a couple. All in all, Siobhan writes another amazing story in this series and has me loving the whole thing, start to finish And now she has me anxiously waiting for Kaden s book so than I was when I started this series.

Siobhan s books are famous for their angst and drama, the twists and turns that were so unpredictable, ironically it was expected of Davis works BUT with Saving Brad, Davis took a turn for the darker side and delivered a spectacular tale filled with vulnerability and raw emotions I have no idea how she does it but she has TOPPED her best works with Brad and Rachel s story WOWZA For the fans of the series, and especially for those who are on Team Brad, we were all rooting for his happy ending and it took us a whole FOUR books to get to this point dammit, it s about time Reading how he was pining away for his best friend s girl was saddening, especially when he was the anchor in the middle of the Kyler Faye sh tstorm, the one who truly sacrificed himself with nothing to gain in the process by pretending to be Faye s boyfriend, all the while falling for the unattainable girl She s the only girl I want even though I know she will never be mine If being trapped in a classic tale of nice guys finish last wasn t bad enough, his family uprooted and disappeared without a trace the day his father was accused of a crime, leaving him all alone to struggle in his own ditch of darkness and despair He drowned his demons the only way he knew how and found solace in alcohol and women, but it was all just temporary Until Rachel For the first time in ages, I feel like I belong in my skin Like I finally recognize myself, and I m comfortable with who I am Rachel was running away from her past Moving away from Ireland to America for a fresh start, she was determined to pick up the pieces and move on with her life, but she couldn t stop looking over her shoulders waiting for him to catch up the monster from her childhood who wouldn t stop at anything until he gotten her Yet she hid her vulnerabilities behind her feisty mouth and her tough exterior, until Brad s reappearance threatened to destroy the wall she has built, exposing her to the ONE truth that will ruin her From hate to lust and a bond beyond the physical, Rachel and Brad s romance only intensified with each chapter, from enemies to friends and ultimately lovers, their whirlwind romance swept readers off their feet as we were all caught in the storm Filled with mystery and suspense, Davis does not sugarcoat the horrors that her characters faced and challenged her readers every step of the way It was so beautiful to read how both of them gradually opened up to one another and formed an unbreakable foundation of trust and love, I actually enjoyed that the steamy scenes were toned down a little albeit those few moments were still incredibly hot and the story was plot and character driven The only bummer was Brad and Kyler s falling out but I m glad that worked out in the end Unpoular opinion Read at your own risk view spoiler I was actually quite annoyed with how childish Ky was behaving, after all he was the ONE who got the GIRL yet he continues to act like an overbearing jealous boyfriend But it was undeniable how loyal the Kennedy s could be during tough times and him helping Brad despite the tension was a redeeming quality hide spoiler

This book was so amazing I m so lucky to get to beta read for the extremely talented Siobhan Davis It is such an amazing honor, because her work just gets better and better and better, and Saving Brad is no exception At this point it is tied with Loving Kalvin as my favorite book in the Kennedy Boys series The interplay between the two main characters in this book is really great I love how things develop between them I have a very special place in my heart for Brad, and I m so glad she decided to write his book so soon in the series He has made me so heartsick recently, because he s been in such an awful place, and has been acting badly Not like the Brad I know and love He tried my patience greatly in this book, but in the end he did me proud Plus, it was in the way where a character drives you nuts, but you love it There was so much happening in this book, as far as the plot goes I just devoured this book It killed me every time I had to put it down and return to real life I also loved the glimpse we got of Kaden at the end of the book, except now I can t wait for Kaden s book I swear to goodness, my jaw dropped when I read the last few lines This book was sexy, suspenseful, and just hands down amazing It is a MUST if you are a fan of the Kennedy series.

I received an eARC of this book from the author This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review Oh my heart Saving Brad by Siobhan Davis is the fifth installment in her The Kennedy Boys which follows one family and their relationships Seriously these books are so addicting I may not usually read or enjoy contemporary but Siobhan Davis has written such a compelling, dramatic series full of angst that I just cannot sit down.As the title suggests, Brad, the other side of the Faye Ky triangle, is the main focus I ll be honest, I really liked Brad at the beginning of the series and may have shipped him with Faye than once I felt like his character was so tragic He lost everything his best friend, his family, his fortune, even his dreams were at stake He was just so sad that my heart ached for him throughout the series thus far Now nearly two years after the end of Keeping Kyler, Brad has really lost himself When the book begins, he s nearly unrecognizable from the character Faye met in Finding Kyler He s unintentionally and sometimes intentionally mean, still pining for his best friend s girl, and drinking his pain away Not a very attractive side of him. Then enters Rachel Of Faye s two Irish girlfriends, she s the one that intrigues me the most Her history is shrouded in mystery She s been seriously hurt in the past and has told no one of it Like Brad, she s spent most of her teenage years having sex and drinking away her pain Now with her family s recent good luck, she s at a place where she can start over and disappear Rachel is finding herself, gaining confidence, and showing a little vulnerability But what endears her to me is how she recognizes Brad s pain when those that are closest to him seem to ignore it.The plot of this story really revolves around the growth of both characters and is moved along by the drama that surrounds them Unlike the other books in this series, I felt like Rachel and Brad s drama flows naturally with the story It adds to their characters and helps to understand them better Like the other books, there are many twists and surprises along the way and I was very surprised by Rachel s reveal I had an idea what it was but not the whom sorry I know that s vague, but no spoilers from me Overall I loved Saving Brad I devoured it I started it before bed one night with the intention of reading one or two chapters, 6 hours later I was teary eyed and finished I couldn t sit it down and needed lots of coffee the next morning but it was totally worth it If you enjoy contemporary romance, filled with angst and drama and surprise twists and turns, I highly recommend you grab a copy of this book While it can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading it after the first three books of the series so you can understand the characters better Also of note, this is a new adult book and I do not recommend for those under 18 There are some graphic sexual scenes, foul language and some triggers Be aware before you read

Saving Brad is part of the Kennedy Boys series Brad isn t a Kennedy, but he s been like a brother to Ky for years Their relationship has been strained for the past year since Brad is convinced he s in love with Faye, Kyler s now and forever girl Rachel is Faye s best friend from Ireland Now she s in America, going to school and living with Faye Other than one unforgettable night Brad and Faye hate each other But is hate the only emotion they have for one another Is it hate at all This is a drama filled story with plenty of angst, sex, suspense, and action Brad has never been my favorite character in this series I know tons of readers love him, but his self destructive path, his disrespect for Ky, his man whoring ways have not endeared him to me I was not looking forward to reading his story one bit Rachel on the other hand, intrigued me Yes, she was also on a self destructive path, and yes, she was clearly running from her pain too, but she didn t pant over her best friend s man and she was trying to do better There s the difference for me Rachel was trying to behave healthier, Brad was continuing to wallow However, Siobhan is good She made me feel for Brad His pain ran much deeper than I realized, his self loathing much stronger I still disliked him and his behavior at times I think he has too many selfish moments and hurts the people closest to him, but he manned up in this book Proof again of the power of a good woman, the power of love Rachel broke my heart Her story was truly painful Her strength is amazing Brad and Rachel started out backwards Sex, then enemies, then uneasy friends, then everything They both have so much healing to do Rachel is stronger and kinder than Brad, but she makes him a better man, the man he was always meant to be if life hadn t knocked him down Rachel has been hurt at the deepest level She has kept her suffering hidden, hurt herself trying to forget Brad is hurt, but he s also very angry, so he strikes out, deliberately hurting others, then he feels worse about himself Good friends, love, getting out of your oen head and worrying about someone else, getting support these are the ways to heal it just takes these two longer to figure out the right way to move forward When they both realize that the past can be dealt with, that the present can be good, and the future can be promising, it s such a major feel good love story, you can t help but cheer them on Their story is an emotional journey, one that too many of us can relate to on one level or another Their happiness can give us all hope Brad and Rachel s story is tied up at the end in the sweetest of ways, but during the finale, we get a glimpse of the next story Kaden It s quite a shock and I can t wait Trigger warning Sexual abuse survivors please take note that parts of this story could be upsetting.

First of all, Saving Brad is a standalone and you don t have to, but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series because you are missing out by not spending time with these amazing characters Now to my review This was a very emotional read for me We have witnessed Brad s journey down the path of self destruction for a while now, but this is when he hits rock bottom We have also received clues regarding Rachel s own issues, but this is when we find out the nitty gritty, and I promise you all that it is dark and heartbreakingly sad Only this time, the heartache is joined by a new layer of guilt and self revulsion Does she feel that too Does Rachel hate herself as much as I hate me I found both Brad and Rachel to be very realistic in how they deal with their personal issues while living their lives Both of our main characters go through periods of self loathing, hopelessness, anger, shame, and guilt throughout this story There are moments when irritability consumes Brad, causing him to lash out which were difficult to witness because I ve been there before, and the guilt that comes afterwards can be unbearable Rachel mostly distances herself from everyone she loves, choosing to suffer silently again, this is another coping mechanism I am quite familiar with that only leads to a life of bitterness if not properly addressed. After Siobhan exposes these characters truths, it is clear that Brad and Rachel are perfect for each other However, get buckled up because the route to happiness for both Brad and Rachel is a very bumpy one Even though there are many ups and downs with these two, I promise you that their chemistry is HOTTT I was lost, but you found me We found each other I hold her hand to my mouth and plant a gentle kiss on her skin Let s never lose sight of that This was one of my many swoon moments In order to break up some of the heaviness, Siobhan adds some humor as well as that Kennedy family drama I giddily anticipate with each story Here is a little taste I think I ve heard it all now The day I take romantic advice from Kent Kennedy is the day the world ends Saving Brad also offers some much needed closure regarding the repair of relationships with oneself and those with family and friends as well The ongoing tension between the main characters and their loved ones in the previous books had my anxiety levels through the roof, and it was a major relief to be given those conclusions. However, just when one main plot ends, another opens The Epilogue is one of my favorite parts of Brad s book because it perfectly delivers a glimpse at the life of our next Kennedy Kaden Where or where will Siobhan take us with this one We can only wait and see I received a BETA copy and volunteered to review it.
