3.5The only thing missing in this stereotyped, cliche ridden, tongue in cheek story was the knotting or a male pregnancy I even tolerated the amount of pet peeves present, including using baby as an endearment, since the author purposely wrote the story like that I had fun with it, and now I have to wait to the next one where our evil twin will make his debut, I imagine.

You want the short version of what this book is like Absolutely hilarious would be my summary It contains every single clich ever used in a werewolf story and probably invented a few new ones while I wasn t looking, or rather, unable to look because I was too busy laughing my head off or wiping tears of hilarity from my eyes From the blurb to the clearly overly cheesy fluffy romance like cover, this novel is the perfect werewolf story parody And this is only the first volume in a series s You want the short version of what this book is like Absolutely hilarious would be my summary It contains every single clich ever used in a werewolf story and probably invented a few new ones while I wasn t looking, or rather, unable to look because I was too busy laughing my head off or wiping tears of hilarity from my eyes From the blurb to the clearly overly cheesy fluffy romance like cover, this novel is the perfect werewolf story parody And this is only the first volume in a series sign me up for the rest of it I do think there are two requirements for you to truly enjoy this gem of a novel One is a sense of humor and an ability to appreciate self deprecating characters with a habit of criticizing themselves and everything that happens to them And the second requirement is for you to have read at least ten of the standard werewolf stories out there or watched a few B movies about werewolves without an understanding of what makes some of the paranormal werewolf genre so predictable, you will miss half the jokes, probablythan half, actually Oh, and it helps if you re an author or an editor or friends with one or the other there are plenty of funny observations about those groups as well.Killian is an editor with a small publisher and the narrator of this story He has plenty of reasons to dislike werewolves in real life, and he hates seeing manuscript after manuscript with essentially the same plot in fiction Irate authors who complain about not getting a contract are not exactly on his list of favorite people, so you can imagine what happens when alpha wolf Brett walks in to complain about just one such rejection Yep, the sparks fly But there isto the situation than either of them will believe or admit amongst other things, Brett figures out Killian is his mate What follows is a hilarious romp including every single character, plot twist, and event you have every seen in a werewolf romance book All hilariously narrated and put into perspective by super skeptical Killian who refuses to behave like the typical mate of the alpha and forges ahead to write his own rules Well, he does his best, but much to my amusement, he doesn t always succeed The clich is simply too overwhelming. If you like sarcasm, books full of humor, and main characters who don t take themselves too seriously, if you want to see two very unlikely partners go through an evenunlikely courtship and end up as the romantic clich s at least one of them never wanted to be, and if you re looking for an entertaining read that will make you laugh out loud, then you will probably enjoy this novel as much as I did I think it s hilarious and cannot wait to see what the author comes up with for Confessions of a Werewolf Editor 2 NOTE This book was provided by Dreamspinner Press for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews

3.75 stars After reading the blurb, I immediately wanted to read this I expected that because the author professed to knowing the clich s of paranormal romance she would deliver a funny tale with plenty of surprises But and isn t there always a but But this story does point out a bunch of these clich s, yes, but it sure doesn t try to reinvent the wheel, just added a couple of new spinners on for show.In short, the plot points out all the typical stuff through Killian who hates them and ye 3.75 stars After reading the blurb, I immediately wanted to read this I expected that because the author professed to knowing the clich s of paranormal romance she would deliver a funny tale with plenty of surprises But and isn t there always a but But this story does point out a bunch of these clich s, yes, but it sure doesn t try to reinvent the wheel, just added a couple of new spinners on for show.In short, the plot points out all the typical stuff through Killian who hates them and yet they re all present in this story One hero who has a foot in both the human and the wolf world and a strong reason to hate the wolf bit another hero who has a prior straight engagement and a whole pack to run an insane female lead who is, of course, attached to one of the heroes a pushy family who don t give a toss about their son plotting and scheming to overthrow Brett a horrible caricature of a woman who in the end sees the light and is unbelievably redeemed and last but not least, a challenge fight to the death in wolf form Did I miss anything Hmm.Read the full review at Joyfully Jay
